The Story

Built by a player who got tired of servers that couldn't get it right.

The Deep Isle started as a personal challenge — to see if one person could build something better. What began as a hobby, born out of the never-ending frustration of not being able to join popular voice chat servers, became a fully featured, community-focused server that actually works. No shortcuts. No excuses.

We are not here to gatekeep the experience. We are not here to sell you features you deserve for free. We are not here to make survival feel like a chore. We believe The Isle is best when it's immersive, fair, and alive — and we built The Deep Isle with exactly that in mind.

The Deep Isle Voice App is Required

We use our own custom voice app for positional proximity voice chat — players closer to you sound louder, audio comes from left/right based on position. The voice app is required to play on this server. If the server does not detect you connected within 15 minutes of joining, you will be kicked automatically.

  • The app will open automatically when installation is complete.
One app, both servers: The Deep Isle app works on both The Deep Isle and The Earl. Install it once and you're covered for both.

  • When the app opens you will see two buttons — The Deep Isle and The Earl.
  • Click the server you want to connect to.

Log In With Steam

  • A Steam login window will open automatically.
  • Log in with your Steam account — you can use your password or the QR code.
  • Once logged in the app will verify your identity and load your dashboard.
Why Steam? We use Steam to verify your identity and link your in-game character to your voice automatically. No separate account or password needed.

Join Voice & Start Playing

  • Click the 🎙️ Join Voice button in the app.
  • Launch The Isle and join the server as normal.
  • Hold the middle mouse button (scroll wheel click) to talk.
Proximity voice is automatic — players near you sound louder, players far away fade out. No configuration needed.
Keep the app open while playing. Closing the app will disconnect you from voice and the server will kick you after 15 minutes.

Server Rules

Age Limit 18+ Only

This server is 18+ only. If you are verified to be underage you will be kicked and banned. There are no exceptions.

⚔️ In-Game Combat Rules

  • No Teamkilling: You cannot intentionally kill a member of your own group. If issues arise, disengage instead of escalating.
  • Group Leaving: Do not leave a group and immediately start attacking. Give players time to relocate.
  • RCON Ceasefire: All fights must stop immediately once the RCON restart message appears. Do not kill players who are safelogging for restart.
  • Disconnect / Crash Abuse: Killing players who have crashed or are disconnecting is against the spirit of fair play.

Admin Enforcement If admins catch you excessively killing disconnected players, your Dino will be slayed — no exceptions.

No Tickets We do NOT accept reports for disconnect deaths as we cannot verify them.

🦖 No Mixpacking / Megaherding

  • Mixpacking: Different dinosaur species working or fighting together is NOT ALLOWED.
  • Megaherding: Excessively large groups (see limits below) fighting together is NOT ALLOWED.
  • Allowed: Being near other species without protecting or benefiting from them.
  • Not Allowed: Defending, assisting, or fighting alongside another species.
Automation Warning: If you are within range of other species or oversized groups for 15+ minutes, you will receive an automated message. Shortly after, you will take health damage until you separate.

🚫 No Third Partying

Do NOT join fights that are already in progress. Wait until the fight is clearly over before engaging.

  • Jumping into an active fight or attacking already engaged players
  • Grouping mid-fight to help someone

EXCEPTIONS:

  • 🐊 Deinosuchus: Exempt due to its ambush playstyle. However, Deinosuchus may NOT third-party other Deinosuchus in combat.
  • 🦎 Herrerasaurus: Exempt due to its ambush playstyle.

🎙️ Voice Chat & Interactions

  • Push-To-Talk (PTT) Required at all times to prevent hot mics and maintain immersion.
  • Respect: Abuse, harassment, or inappropriate behavior in voice channels will result in immediate moderation action or bans.
  • No Music in VC. Soundboards are allowed if used responsibly — disruptive use will not be tolerated.

📊 Group & Nesting Limits

  • Mutation Rule: Once you hit your first mutation, you count towards the group number. If the group is full, you must leave.
  • Nesting-Slay Mechanic: To prevent over-nesting, hatchlings will be automatically slain if the species is already at or past its cap.
